Little comforts
For a hard week.
Not gift ideas this time. Just small, mostly free things that help when a week has been a lot.
Something warm to drink
Tea, cocoa, whatever’s in the cupboard. Ten minutes with a warm mug and nothing else to do.
A candle you like the smell of
Light it on a regular Tuesday, not just for company. A small thing that makes a room feel like yours.
A short walk
Ten minutes around the block counts. No podcast, no step goal.
A book you’ve read before
Rereading an old favorite is comfort with no surprises. The ones with cracked spines are the best ones.
Fresh sheets on a weeknight
It feels like a hotel for the price of a load of laundry.
If home doesn’t feel safe right now
I’m not an expert, so I won’t give advice here. These people are. They’re free, confidential, and there day or night.
